Job Description/Job Duties
The Data Engineer II will design strategies for the company’s data platform and infrastructure which includes the enterprise database, and data warehouse systems. This includes setting standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security. Model, design, and construct data warehouses. Create and optimize data models for warehouse infrastructure and workflow. Integrate new systems with existing warehouse structure and refine system performance and functionality. Design and upgrade company’s data platform and infrastructure which includes enterprise database and data warehouse systems to meet business needs without sacrificing performance of our core applications. This involves (i) developing, maintaining and optimizing our production Amazon Web Services (AWS) DynamoDB database; (ii) planning, developing, and supporting interoperability across CRM, Stripe, and other integrations like student rostering systems; and (iii) developing and building a ETL pipeline to query (and ultimately visualize) that data in a structured, flexible manner. Develop advanced reporting dashboards for users including but not limited to teachers and schools using our data warehouses. This may include providing escalated technical support to other departments (sales, marketing, and support) and clients as needed. Implement and support our data platforms systems for data security, privacy, and compliance. Contribute to the data platform product development lifecycle including writing requirements, testing, and documentation. Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements including setting up database clusters, backup, and recovery processes.
Requirements
Must possess a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or it's foreign equivalent and 3 years of work experience. The required three years of work experience must include (i) 3 years of work experience with AWS DynamoDB or other no-SQL databases; (ii) 2 years of work experience working with AWS and either databases, data pipelines, or ETL tools; and (iii) 1 year of work experience working on computer databases within either the education, technology, or not-for-profit fields. Experience can be concurrent.
Salary Range: $158,746/year to $175,000/year
